"Glasgow" Cask Strength Edition is the first special release under the brand, with just 3,000 bottles globally. Douglas Laing & Co. has been based in the heart of Glasgow since its inception in 1948, with this bottling being a “justified homage to our roots”. The unique recipe for the special bottling is the result of a collaboration between Douglas Laing & Co and some of Glasgow’s finest bartenders and spirit experts. A one-off event was held at the firm’s Glasgow HQ in February, during which 8 “mixology masters” experimented with Lowland Single Malts, each blending their own distinctive creation to be judged by Fred Laing,

Old Perth is a brand that goes back to the early 1990s when it was created by the Thomson family in Perth. It disappeared in the 1970s but was brought back to life as a blended malt in 2013 by independent bottlers Morrison & Mackay
Old Perth cask strength Sherry 61.8% abv
Four Highland single malt whiskies matured in sherry casks, hogsheads, puncheons and butts, were blended to give a harmonious although full bodied malt whisky. In the nose dark fruits, honey and raisins dominate. palate this impression is intensified. Candyfloss and sponge cake appear in the background.

Old Perth Red Wine Finish
The red wine casks used for this batch of Old Perth Red Wine finish are from Chateau Beychevelle in St Julien. The finish was 4 and a half months as the casks were fresh when we received them.

Each cask was individually filled into a red wine cask rather than marrying together before filling into the red wine casks. We specifically chose lighter, fruity speyside whiskies for this batch which suits the red wine cask finish.
